Weaving a Forest at Taoyuan Airport:Textile Art

Weaving a Forest at Taoyuan Airport?

Bringing Travelers Closer to the Beauty of Taiwan's Mountains and Forests through Textile Art

A giant art installation has been added to the B8 waiting area of Taoyuan Airport, offering a new perspective on Taiwan's mountain landscapes and textile craftsmanship.

This work is themed around Taiwan's unique textile industry. It utilizes various weaving techniques to create a piece titled "Weaving Forest." It serves as a companion for travelers waiting for their flights and as a shared experience in weaving memories of their journeys.

Created by Apujan, the piece "Weaving Forest" showcases a rich variety of materials and techniques. Upon closer inspection, the installation seems to narrate a complete story from thread to fabric to the final product. The installation features iconic Taiwanese wildlife, including the Formosan sika deer, the leopard cat, the Taiwan blue magpie, and the Formosan swallowtail butterfly, weaving through the forest streams crafted from textiles. This vividly highlights the diversity and beauty of Taiwan's mountain ecology while showcasing the intricacies of its textile industry.
